What Google says

According to the company, this type of application violates YouTube’s terms of service, as it suspends the diffusion of advertisements and simulates, without authorization, one of the advantages of YouTube Premium, the paid version of the platform.

Our terms do not allow third-party apps to disable ads (…) this prevents the creator from receiving compensation for viewss”, we read in an excerpt from the official statement released by Google this Monday (15). “We are strengthening our oversight of third-party apps (…) particularly those that block advertisings,” adds big tech.

It’s worth mentioning that YouTube’s fight against ad blockers began in July 2023, when the service began displaying messages against using the tool. Since last November, YouTube has limited the number of videos that users who use ad blockers can view.

Recommendation to avoid problems

The company’s advice for those who don’t want to watch advertising is to subscribe to YouTube Premium. One of the advantages is the possibility of enjoying content without advertising. The individual plan currently costs R$24.90 per month in Brazil.

Another option is to opt for the Family plan, which allows you to add up to five accounts for R$41.90 per month. Other unique Premium features include background video playback and access to YouTube Music in the same package.
