Indignation in Peru: a taxi driver voluntarily knocks down a puppy that was resting in the street

A new case of animal abuse shocked thousands of people in Peru. On this occasion, the facts occurred in the municipality of Lima, where Internet users denounced that a taxi driver mercilessly crushed a puppy by application which was in the streets of the neighborhood of Chorrillos. According to the authorities, the man has already been identified and will be arrested by the authorities.

The case was denounced, initially, by the Councilor of the Municipality of Lima, Carlo Angeles, who wrote on his social networks: “This trash has mercilessly crushed a puppy. They inform me that it is at Chorrillos. If you know the complainant or have more details please let me know so I can personally refer you to @FiscaliaPeru This trash deserves the full weight of the law.”

Additionally, a video was shared in the post where We observe how the taxi driver by application cruelly crushes a puppy who was in the middle of a road. From what can be seen in the footage, the driver was parked as he apparently finished dropping off a passenger at his destination. Once his shift is over, the driver continues down the street and, Even though he sees the tether, he decides not to brake and runs over the defenseless animal that was resting on the pavement.

The recording shows that the puppy was injured on the public highway, where Other dogs approached to try to help their canine friend. According to Carlo Angeles, Councilor of the Municipality of Lima, the driver has already been identified and belongs to the company InDrive Latam. Therefore, he requested the support of the company to provide more details about who this subject would be so that it proceeds legally and that the aggression does not go unpunished.

After what was said by Carlo Angeles, InDrive Latam, the taxi-by-app company, has spoken out and said it is against any issues related to violence. In the same way, the application specifies that they are already in communication with the owners of the net so that they provide more details of this fact, such as the data of the driver.

“Internally, we take all the necessary and corrective actions. We have already contacted the owner of the dog and told him what to doInDrive is open to cooperate with necessary information in case authorities require it,” InDrive Latam said.
