Ukrainian parliament says Russians attacked nitric acid deposit near Luhansk

Ukrainian officials say a Russian attack hit a tank of nitric acid, causing a cloud of toxic smoke. The depot is located in the city of Rubizhne, near Luhansk.

Residents of Rubizhne were told to stay indoors or wear a protective mask specifically for poisoning, according to CNN. “It’s better to wait inside, this acid decomposes after rain. But nobody knows when it will rain. So please watch this pink cloud and if it moves towards you, please hide at home and wait. This was a direct hit to the tank.”he said Serhiy Haidaihead of the regional military administration.

According to the G1 portal, nitric acid is toxic and corrosive. Direct contact with acid can cause burns. “This confirms again that the Russians are also focusing on the population”said the publication of the Ukrainian parliament.

understand the conflict

Since the 24th of February, Vladimir Putin started the conflict against Ukraine by bombing regions of the country. The invasion had domains by land, sea and air, after authorization from the Russian president.

Vladimir Putin does not accept that Ukraine is part of NATO, an alliance created by the United States. The president does not want an enemy base to be established close to his territory, as Ukraine shares a border with Russia. This was one of the triggers for Putin to initiate the attacks.
