Tension mounts: Iran presents its first hypersonic missile, able to evade defenses around the world

While the world tension grows, Iran presented, on Tuesday, its first hypersonic missile, which has the advantage of being able to bypass “all anti-missile defenses” due to the high speed at which it moves, greater than that of sound (Mach 5), according to the state agency IRNA. The new weapon received the name “fattah” and has a range of 1,400 kilometers.

The missile was presented on June 6 in the presence of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisí and the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Hosein Salami. Its range places it in the middle range of the large ballistic missile arsenal. that the Guard, a paramilitary organization, has accumulated for years in the face of Western sanctions that drastically reduce its access to advanced weapons.

According to the Iranian President, the new missile will increase Iran’s deterrence capability and assured that contribute to peace and stability in the countries of the region. The presentation was broadcast to the public by Iran’s state television, where footage of a carefully choreographed act was shown to show that the government in Tehran can use weapons against its enemies across much of the Middle East.

In the local media it was explained that “Fattah” has the ability to fly at Mach 13-15 speeds in and out of atmosphere and great maneuverability, which would help you avoid defense systems. “This new missile is capable of defeating all missile defense systems. During the ceremony, Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force Commander General Amir Ali Hajizadeh described the new weapons as a “great leap” for the defensive capacity of his country.

The official added that other countries such as The United States, China, North Korea and Russia have already tested this type of missile. “This technology is unknown to most countries in the world, but our country’s experts have realized it,” said the commander-in-chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.
