“That they don’t have the privileges that some civil servants who were protecting themselves now have, but starting with the bad example that ministers of To research, that they earn more than the president. They led by example because they were the ones who promoted the protections,” he said.

Attacks on Justice

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador He again attacked the judiciary, saying it is a “bastion of corrupt conservatism” and therefore needs reform to purify itself. He asserted that honest, principled and incorruptible judges, magistrates and ministers are needed. During the morning press conference, he declared that the reforms are still lacking but that he will not be able to carry them out during his government.

“It’s not going to affect me anymore. I’m leaving a list of pending reforms. And it’s not going to affect me because I don’t have time anymore, I have to devote myself body and soul to completing the work, consolidating social programs leaving the foundations for the transformation of the country firmly established,” he said.

The president said the obvious pending reform is that of the Power Judicial.

“But other reforms are needed, for example, it is obvious that a reform of the judiciary is necessary, but I cannot get involved in this anymore, because this power is currently a bastion of corrupt conservatism and that is why (historian Enrique) Krauze defends it, (retired minister José Ramón) Cossío, but it requires reform,” he argued.

“I’m not saying that they are all corrupt, but the judiciary is in bad shape and it has to be done from the bottom up because it is judges, magistrates and ministers who are renewed, new posts are occupied by people of integrity, with principles, honest, incorruptible, true judges and that they do not stop having the people as a reference, that they do not think of money, and of the powerful, but that they think of the people, that they think of justice”, he underlined.

The owner of federal executive He refuted what judges continue to use as an excuse that investigations are poorly integrated.

“All these legal requirements, legaloid, that what matters is justice, because they insist on saying ‘it’s that a complaint is wrongly filed’ if the complaint is wrongly filed and you are referred to justice, they decide, correct, let the process be reinstated,” he said.

The President added that another of the ongoing reforms is to eliminate all the autonomous organizations created during the neoliberal period such as the Ifel and the INAI.

“Eliminate all these organizations that were created at the time of looting and corruption, this IFETEL, how is IFETEL going to be if you have the Ministry of Communications and Transport, which was the one who previously dealt with everything that concerned communications, why create a special body? Ah, it is that this autonomous body will guarantee that there are no monopolies, who manages this autonomous body? The monopolies are called overriding agents because they used a whole new terminology during the neoliberal period to make these institutions fronts,” he argued.
