He also participated in various Santo films, in addition to having a prolific career in television, where he participated in various melodramas such as; “Maximiliano y Carlota”, from 1965, “El maleficio” (1983), “Angeles blancos” (1989) and “Perla” (1998), to name but a few.

Gabriel Varela, son of Cuban actress Gina Romand, announced the death of his mother this Saturday morning, after posting a message from his Twitter account where he shared a moving farewell message to his famous mother.

“With all my pain, I say goodbye to my mother, Gina Romand, who always lit up my life, now she rests in peace illuminating the sky with her eternal radiance. I will always miss you and love you forever. rest my classy blonde“, was the message that his son wrote to spread the news.

Golden Cinema actress Gina Romand, also known as ‘The Blonde Category’ as she was the face of a beer company for many years, has lost her life after spending several days hospitalized in Mexico City and frail health. Although so far no member of his family has mentioned the causes of his death, in some television programs in Mexico they have mentioned pneumonia as a possible cause of his death.

On November 26, the actress’ son, Gabriel Varela, asked for prayers for his mother after she had to be hospitalized: “I know that her strength and her will to live will be able to carry her forward. Your prayers and wishes are appreciated.”, wrote at the time the director of the theater. A few days later, he reported that his mother’s health had improved and that they had transferred her to intermediate therapy.

Since then, Varela has not mentioned the subject on his social networks until this Saturday, when he dedicated the moving words to his mother through the Twitter message in which he announced his death. The Cuban actress thus joins other celebrities who have died in recent days in Mexico, such as Héctor Bonilla, Alonso Echánove and “Zamorita”.
