Every year, Louise and Jeanne Tresvaux du Fraval meet in the enclave of Brehac in Brittany. Enjoying the air of Bay Saint-Bruce of course, but also inventing new clothes with their label Studio de Lostanges.

Their oversized dresses, bags, or pajama-style sets made in France from reclaimed leather and fabrics are joined this month by knitwear made in Rohan: wool vests, merino cargo sweaters, scarves.

Louise, a stylist and stage costume designer, takes care of the prototypes and liaises with factories located in Rennes or nearby Pontevedra. Jin, facility designer and visual artist, oversees the imagery. Each of them has their own inspirations (bent pottery, cut-out photos, trinkets, crushed accessories, etc.) for their fashion.

“Sailorwear and the 1950s remain our foundations. We love digging into old photos to study a hem or sleeve. says Joan. “Or take a traditional suit and its typical buttons, for example,” adds Louise.

Born in Lyon to an engineer father specializing in the environment and a textile designer mother. “Radically committed to less consumption,” The two sisters have always had a mania for appropriating fabrics bought at flea markets.

“This sensitivity comes from afar. From our childhood, one of our grandmothers introduced us to weaving and made us touch the fabrics to understand their quality. » Moved by a confidential and regional annex, their label, which will offer an ephemeral outlet in Paris in December, may soon spread, they hope, to facilities.
