Rapper Goonew’s alleged corpse appears at nightclub funeral

the rapper real name , was gunned down in Maryland on March 18 at age 24. Police are investigating the fatal shooting and there are believed to be no suspects in custody. An event, dubbed The Final Show, was held at the Bliss nightclub in Washington DC on Sunday (3) to celebrate Goonew’s life and career. Videos shared on social media show an alleged embalmed corpse of the late rapper standing on stage as the packed club danced to his tunes.

Tickets were made available on EventBrite, however the listing does not mention plans to display his body at the club. Family and close friends also danced on stage close to his body, isolated by a rope and dressed in a sweater, jeans, sneakers and a crown on his head.

It looked like a normal nightclub night with multicolored strobe lights flashing across the room as fireworks went off near the supposed corpse. There was also a performance by the rapper Black Fortunewho insisted: “No, this is not a wax doll”.

As the videos went viral on social media, outrage mounted among netizens, with many calling it “disturbing” to have Goonew’s body on display in such a way. One fan tweeted: “Goonew deserved it, your niggas sick” while another agreed, “This shit is so crazy it makes me uncomfortable.” Another opined: “What they did to Goonew is disgusting, let that man rest in peace.”

Bliss nightclub bosses issued an apology amid the backlash and claim they were unaware of plans to put Goonew’s body on stage. In a statement shared with the club, they said…

Our deepest condolences to Goonew’s family, friends and fans. Bliss was contacted by a local funeral home to rent our venue for the home Goonew celebration. Bliss was never informed of what would happen. We sincerely apologize to all those who may be upset or offended. Please keep Goonew’s family and friends in your prayers at this difficult time. Respectfully, Bliss DC.

Goonew rose to fame in 2017 with the release of his mixtape Certified GoonFollowed by big 64 and goonwick in 2018, Back From Hell in 2019 and short temper 2021. He was shot in 2019 and wrote in a post at the time: “I never show these pictures, but on July 5th of last year they told my mom I was dead and I came back… Still here.” The rapper was named best new artist by Pigeons & Planes in 2020.
