INEGI: economic activity grew by 5% year on year in October

In October, economic activity in Mexico increased by 5% compared to the same month last year, according to figures from the historical indicator of economic activity (IOAE).

According to National Institute of Statistics and Geography The aforementioned indicator is an advance estimate of the performance of the economy before the publication of the IGAE’s global indicator of economic activity and also constitutes an advance reference of what the gross domestic product could be (GDP).

By October 2022, the indicator that estimates a 5% variation in the annual rate of IGAEpresent their respective intervals of trust 95% for the months of September and October 2022.

It should be mentioned that in its monthly comparison with September, the Point indicator of economic activity slightly increased by 0.1%.

The result that surprised analysts in October is due, according to figures from the INEGI to the impetus that has manifested itself in the major sectors of economic activity which, taken together, have revealed that in Indicator Global of the Exercise Economic it was 3.6 percent.

While indoors, for secondary activities of the IGAEan annual increase of 3.5% and 5.6% is calculated in the tertiary sector, all with figures corrected for seasonal variations.

According to INEGI data, the country’s economic activity has recorded constant growth, although in its monthly variation the growth was 0.1% in August, 0.2% in September and 0. 1% in October, with which we can expect economic growth to stagnate for the rest of the year.
