The hot sale increased online sales and reached a collection of almost 30 billion pesos

There Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO) reported that the promotional campaign of hot sale internet call reached 29.9 billion pesos in total sales, in which 685 companies participated, 25% of which were small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

During the presentation of the Hot Sale 2023 results report, Daniela Orozco, AMVO research director, pointed out that 12.7 million buyers were registered on its platform, of which 51% were Internet users over the age of 18.

He pointed out that six out of 10 participants were between 25 and 44 years old. In terms of volume, he said 29.2 million units sold and 11.1 million purchase orders were reported, representing an average of 2.6 items purchased for each purchase order.

Orozco pointed out that the average ticket was two thousand 696 pesos and the most requested items were fashion, electronics, beauty and personal care; followed by the acquisition of the consoles and video games category, while furniture and home purchases tended to deteriorate, at least in online sales.

AMVO announced that the most used means of payment during this edition of the business week were bank cards, where the omnichannel buyer preferred to use debit cards and cash on delivery.

On the other hand, cash consumption remains the preferred method of payment in physical stores.

Regarding safety, Orozco clarified that the report showed a positive trend as eight out of 10 potential buyers felt safe, while in terms of complaints and based on information from the Office of the Federal Consumer Attorney ( Profeco), during the nine-day campaign, only 12 complaints were filed.
