Instagram permanently deletes the Pornhub profile

After the Pornhub account was suspended for a week from Instagram, now the platform has decided to permanently remove it. The reason for this action, according to the platform itself, was that the profile constantly violated the community guidelines, which appeared to be a form of provocation to the social network.

In an open letter to Meta’s four executives, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram chief Adam Mosseri, Pornhub said the application rules within the app are “opaque, discriminatory and hypocritical.”

Before the profile was permanently removed, the Pornhub account was suspended for 7 days three weeks ago. Instagram’s content rules explicitly prohibit any content that discloses nudity or any type of sexual content, however Pornhub claims that its account was “PG”.

In the Instagram community guidelines it says, “We know there are times when people want to share nude pictures that are artistic or creative in nature, but for a variety of reasons we don’t allow nudity on Instagram.”

Instagram also prohibits hiring or encouraging porn actors within the platform and according to the site VarietyPornhub had posted a video that talked about the social network and did just the opposite of the rule: it encouraged people to be actors of adult content.

Pornhub has published an open letter to Meta. It said: “Prostitutes and artists have been unfairly targeted with these bans, shadow bans, suspensions, loss of live privileges and content removal, even with all the extra attention not to violate the guidelines of the community of Instagram. […] The livelihoods of independent creators are undermined by Instagram’s reckless and discriminatory behavior. “
