How to make the taskbar translucent in Windows 11
One of the native features you may not know about is the ability to make the taskbar and surfaces translucent. In addition to being a great way to further customize your home screen, this feature can make your entire setup much more aesthetically pleasing.
If you want to learn how to make the taskbar translucent in Windows 11, follow these steps:
Click the Start button at the bottom of the screen on the taskbar, then click the “Settings” button in the menu;

In the settings menu, on the left side of the screen, click “Personalization” and then click “Colors”;

Turn on the switch under “Transparency Effects”, this button will make windows and surfaces appear more translucent, including the taskbar.

How to make the taskbar transparent in Windows 11
If, however, you want the taskbar to be completely transparent, you will have to download the software as this is not possible via normal settings. There are several options between free and paid applications.
Necessary time: 5 minutes.
In this example we will use the free TranslucentTB app, available only in English, but very simple to use:
- Open Microsoft Store
Open the Microsoft Store app and type TranslucentTB in the search field;
- Click “Buy”
Select the TranslucentTB application in the results and click “Buy”;
- Click “Open”
Once the installation is complete, click on “Open” and the taskbar will become completely transparent;
- Click on the “x”
The application will open a window, if you want to access the advanced settings of TranslucentTB, click “Continue”. However, since this step is not necessary for transparency to work, even when you restart your computer you can simply close the window by clicking the “x” button.
- Log in to the application
When you want to turn off transparency or access advanced settings, click “Show hidden icons” on the taskbar, then right-click the TB icon. To turn off transparency, click “Exit.”
