
G7 representatives met last Friday (19) and agreed to discuss the rules for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The group leaders will get back together next week to discuss the issues presented by technologies like ChatGPT.
Hiroshima AI trial
In the last meeting, representatives of Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom agreed to establish an intergovernmental forum called the “Hiroshima AI process” to discuss new technologies. Among the issues are the implementation of rules to guide the use and rapid advancement of AI.
The G7 will hold a new meeting next Tuesday (30). According to Japan’s communications minister, Takeaki Matsumoto, the countries will discuss issues related to intellectual property protection, disinformation and technology regulation.
However, according to the country, who chairs this year’s G7, “he will lead the discussion on the reactive use of generative AI technology”.
