Moto G53 and Moto G73 launch with 5G connection and Android 13; see prices

Motorola announced, this Tuesday (24), the launch of two new mid-range mobile phones of its most popular and well-known line in Brazil: the Moto G53 and the Moto G73. The two devices arrive on the international market with a 5G connection, MediaTek and Qualcomm processors, as well as a 120Hz screen and pre-installed Android 13.

The year has begun and Motorola has taken advantage of the momentum after the holidays to show the world two new Moto G models. Starting with the largest number, the Moto G73 was presented with two cameras on the back, the main one with 50 megapixels and the secondary one that works with its 8 megapixels to make macros and also record photos in ultrawide: the lens is hybrid, like the latest iPhones.

  • Android 13 comes to Motorola One Vision and Action with the help of LineageOS 20
  • Moto E13: Leaked image and performance test of Motorola’s budget mobile
  • ThinkPhone is a Motorola smartphone resembling ThinkPad notebooks from Lenovo

At the front, the Moto G73 offers a 6.5-inch OLED screen with Full HD resolution and a marked refresh at 120Hz. It has the teardrop-shaped space at the top to house the front camera, with its 16 megapixels for selfies. Inside you have a MediaTek Dimensity 930, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal space.

Moto G73 has (almost) pure Android

All this with a 5G connection and factory-installed Android 13, in an interface very similar to that of pure Android, present in Google’s Pixel devices.

The Moto G53, on the other hand, is easier when you change the screen for an IPS LCD display of the same size, but with HD+ resolution (1600 x 720 pixels). It also bets on a 50-megapixel rear camera, but the secondary sensor only does 2-megapixel macro, not ultrawide here.

Inside, the Moto G53 uses a Snapdragon 480+ processor, with 128GB of memory and 4GB of RAM, which can borrow a small portion of the storage to increase the amount of volatile memory, speeding up some apps and increasing longevity of the device yes.

Moto G53 is simpler

It also has Android 13 with a clean interface, but longevity goes so far. Both the Moto G53 and Moto G73 hit the market with only the guarantee of receiving Android 14 and no other updates from Google. Having only one new system is a very bad point, especially when competitors like Samsung offer three for similar models.

At least the new Moto G will receive security updates for three years. With this it is safe to say that Moto G53 and G73 will have major fixes for users by 2026.

If the Android update isn’t encouraging, at least in terms of battery, the two devices are eye-catching. The mobile phones use this component with 5,000mAh and come with 30 watt chargers for the Moto G73 and 18 watts for the Moto G53, both in the box.

When and how much?

The Moto G53 and Moto G73 are expected to launch in the next few days for Europe, but it is virtually certain that they will arrive in Brazil soon. In the old continent the suggested prices are respectively 300 and 250 euros.
