UFO: Alien Evidence? Olhar Espacial promotes the debate

This week, as reported byNASA held a public conference to present the first results of investigations of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) carried out by a specialized study group of the agency.

The focus of the session, which lasted around four hours, was to present “final deliberations” before the team released an official report, expected at the end of July.

While nothing out of the ordinary has been revealed, the announcement of the encounter puts many people on high alert, waiting for some evidence of alien contacts to finally be presented.

In parallel with NASA’s studies, the US Department of Defense (DoD) (Pentagon) also has a specific office dedicated to monitoring what the US government prefers to call “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAP).

In other words, the country is proving very busy unraveling the mysteries surrounding the hitherto unexplained sightings reported for years, mainly by civilian and military aviators.

It is worth noting that (contrary to what Hollywood films seem to lead us to believe), the United States is not the exclusive setting for these apparitions. Even here, in Brazil, there is always news about it.

It is important to reinforce the meaning of the acronym UFO: Unidentified Flying Object. That is, everything you see flying across the sky, but you can’t be sure what it is. They wouldn’t necessarily be alien ships or anything like that.

Most sightings reported around the world are actually weather balloons and surveillance devices, for example.

And you? Do you defend the thesis that extraterrestrial beings are trying to invade our planet or are you part of the group of those who do not believe in this possibility?

To help you understand the question and, who knows, give substance to your opinion on the subject, this Friday’s Gaze Espacial (2) brings an interesting debate between two illustrious representatives of science dedicated to the mysteries of the cosmos.

Ary Martins is a science communicator, founder of the Pleiades do Sul astronomical group, a member of the International Dark Sky Association and a leading promoter of Asteroid Day events in 2022 – as well as being a staunch skeptic in relation to intelligent alien life.

On the contrary, there will be Rafael Amorim, a ufologist specializing in field investigations in southern Brazil and neighboring countries, with dozens of researched and published cases. A nationally recognized lecturer, he is director of the Nucleus of Ufological Studies of Santa Cruz do Sul (NEUS), in Rio Grande do Sul, as well as being one of the leaders of the Movimento Gaúcho da Ufologia (MGU) and consultant for Revista UFO. Amorim, who was a member of the Brazilian Commission of Ufologists (CBU), is the author of the book “10 Anos Ilustrando a Ufologia”.

This promises to be an enriching – and very respectful, of course – discussion of one of astronomy’s most controversial topics. You can’t lose!

Presented by Marcelo Zurita, President of the Associação Paraibana de Astronomia — APA; member of SAB – Brazilian Astronomical Society; technical director of BRAMON — Brazilian Meteor Observation Network — and regional coordinator (Northeast) of Asteroid Day Brazil, the program is broadcast live, every Friday, at 21:00 (Brasilia time), through the official channels of the vehicle on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn AND Tick tockin addition to the subscription channel Marketet (611-Vivo, 56-Sky and 692-ClaroTV).
